4x4 recovery vehicles purchased and modified for the winter snow and floods and recovery from off road.
Land Rover Defender 2.5 XS Crew Cab
The Land Rover Defender 2.5 XS Crew Cab is the main 4x4 recovery vehicle, equipped to do most jobs in deep water or snow and even the sticky mud of east Anglia. This vehicle is a heavy with a powerful 2.5 TD5 engine that has been remapped to produce more torque and BHP. We then bypassed the EGR valve and added reinforced SIMCO pipes to help with the power delivery, this aids removable of stuck vehicles from mud and snow, it is also fitted with a snorkel so it can enter deep water to remove stranded vehicles with ease. The powerful front mounted winch is designed to help with these tasks and with the also the BF Goodridge MUD terrain tyres ensure we do not get ourselves stuck.
We also added LED strobes front and rear and spot lights for added lighting needed in remote places.
We carry all the equipment needed in the winter including thermal suits, shovels, first aid kits and basic tools with a jump pack to help out stranded drivers.
The Ford Ranger was brought to help out in the bad weather around the yard, then when we decided that the winters were getting worse we thought we would convert it so it could be used to pull customers out of slippery situations in the snow. We decided not to do a large conversion as this vehicle was to be kept for other work during the rest of the year. So we added front and rear LED strobes and all the safety equipment needed to assist people in the winter with shovels, grit and a basic tool kit with jump leads. And of course the company graphics to match in with our other vehicles.
Land Rover Freelander
The Freelander was brought on eBay as a project to repair and get ready for the winter snow, we have removed the rear seats and made it into a commercial van, we then added the winch to the front bumper and new LED lights to front and rear and the roof. We have also added Day Light Running lights the latest fashion and for added safety during the day. Once this was complete we added the lift suspension to raise the vehicle by two inches giving us better ground clearance in the mud and snow. We then finally added the BF Goodridge Mud Terrain tyres for maximum grip and pulling power. Once all the work was complete the Freelander had a full service and at this point we removed the EGR valve and replaced all the hoses with reinforced SIMCO pipes to help with the boost from a remap to the ECU we are adding very soon.
The Freelander was then valeted and our graphics were added ready to join the rest of the fleet.
All vehicles are fitted with first aid kits and fire extinguishers and tool kits for safety and small road side repairs.
